After three different PT stints for an injury plus two surgeries, I spent 7-8 months on and off at Health & Fitness Professionals. I initially chose HFP because they’re located in the same plaza as my yoga studio and I was admittedly very reluctant to give up yoga even though I was injured. From the moment I walked in, the Office Manager was friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. She was very helpful in making the arrangements and flexible when it came to scheduling (and rescheduling) appointments.
After meeting Dr Sean, I felt I was in the right place. Let me tell you what he didn’t do: he wasn’t aggressive like a “do it my way or hit the highway” personal trainer, he didn’t push me past an appropriate level of pain, he didn’t (try to) beat me up for not doing my at-home exercises or icing, and he didn’t try to oversell me on the idea of adding more visits or buying exercise equipment. Now here’s what he did do: he provided thoughtful, professional and individualized physical therapy in a friendly, positive atmosphere. While he made the plan, we jointly amended it each day based on my range of motion, pain and ability. Some days we pushed harder, some days we went softer. I took personal ownership of my treatment plan and we worked together every day. He was firm yet supportive and friendly yet encouraging.
I definitely recommend HFP and I’d be delighted to return.
