What is Physical Therapy?
The Physical Therapists at Health and Fitness Professionals are licensed healthcare professionals who are highly trained in the evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis and creation of treatment protocols in order to treat various conditions that can cause you pain or limit your function.
Physical Therapists are movement specialists who are experts in the prevention and treatment of various musculoskeletal disorders. We work to assess your unique case and develop the plan and program that will help you achieve your goals, whether that is to run that extra mile, be able to play with your grand kids, or anything in between. These goals will be achieved through our hands-on manual techniques, corrective exercises and stretches and various modalities that will aid in your recovery.
Our goal is to work with our patients to prevent and heal your injuries and empower you to take the next step towards a healthier and more productive pain free life.
What can you expect on your first visit:
On your first visit, you will be evaluated by one of our Doctors’ of Physical Therapy who will look to develop an entire picture of your case and will ask you questions regarding your pain, your function andmedical history. They will look at the strength and motion of specific muscles and joints. Once your case is understood, you and your physical therapist will work together to develop specific goals that your therapist will then use to develop your specific treatment plan.
It may also prove beneficial for you to receive additional treatments in conjunction with Physical Therapy that may include Chiropractic, Acupuncture, or a referral to our Pain Management Doctor for additional testing such as X-rays or MRIs.
